Ian and Raquel are a couple who, in their sixties, decide to make one last trip on their yacht touring the Southern Cone of America and fly fishing in the Amazon, Argentina and southern Chile.

At the end of autumn, when passing through the coasts of Tierra del Fuego, they are reached by a strong storm and shipwrecked south of Bahía Inutil along the Azorpado River. When they were already to lose all hope, they find the only cabin in kilometers around inhabited by Juan, a fly-fishing guide who welcomes them and they lodge for four months while they wait to be rescued.

Juan tells them the story of his own accident years ago in Chilean Patagonia and how he survived after the plane in which he was traveling managed to survive after falling into a lake.

Thanks to fly-fishing and his stories, Juan feeds and entertains his accidental cpartners. Raquel, and her husband Ian, writes their story in appreciation for their hospitality during those four months.
